Pearl Jam played the first night of their Dark Matter World Tour over the weekend in Vancouver. Although the tour is in support of their latest album, Dark Matter, the band also played a lot of their classics including a rendition of "Daughter" that featured a nod to The Tragically Hip's "Bobcaygeon".
The band also covered Mother Love Bone's "Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns", Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" and Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World".
The Dark Matter World Tour is set to hit a total of 25 cities in 9 countries. Besides a second night in Vancouver on May 6, there are no plans for additional Canadian dates.
