Rush continues its celebration of the 40th anniversary of Permanent Waves by premiering a new conceptual video for “The Spirit of Radio.”
The animated video pays homage to FM radio and some notable broadcasters as well as to the late drummer Neil Peart.
“The Spirit of Radio,” which takes its name from a Toronto radio station's slogan at the time, was released as the first single from Permanent Waves, an album that went to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. Marking a new direction for the band, the track is among five Rush songs inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010.
In March, a special edition of the album was released in various formats.
