Canadian singer-songwriter Ruth B. released her new song “Slow Fade” on Friday.
Co-written by the 23-year-old Edmonton native and UK duo Oh Wonder (aka Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht), the track was produced by D’Mile, who has worked with artists like Rihanna and Mary J. Blige.
“'Slow Fade’ is about the realization that some things just don’t work out,” explained Ruth B., in a release. “The hardship that comes with letting go of something that once brought you so much joy.
“It’s not a bitter break up song. It’s wishing the best for someone and realizing that something better awaits you as well.”
“Slow Fade” follows the release of singles “Crave” and “Rare” – the first new music from the Juno winner since her 2017 debut album Safe Haven dropped. The video for her breakout song "Lost Boy" has topped 103 million views on YouTube.
