Private jets, luxury hotel suites, and throngs of fans around the world — this is the life of Skrillex.
In The Same Place, a short film that debuted online Tuesday, we get to experience what the 29-year-old DJ and producer does.
Toronto’s iconic CN Tower gets a cameo at the 1:56 mark in the video Skrillex made with Jas Davis and James Winterhalter.
Skrillex is also seen hanging out with Canadian pop superstar — and Jack Ü collaborator — Justin Bieber at 8:16.
The DJ is also seen with Rick Ross, Flavor Flav and Chance the Rapper.
Skrillex (born Sonny Moore) sings with MØ in Poland, jams on an electric guitar in Brazil, and returns to his elementary school in California.
The title of the short film comes from something Skrillex told a room full of people seeking advice on making it in the electronic music scene.
“I’m in the same room you’re all sitting in right now,” he tells them. “I’m in the same place as you guys are.”
Skrillex encourages them not to take things too seriously.
“Make music for the 16-year-old inside of yourself, even when you’re 50 years old,” he says. “Cultivate your own thing. Have some fun, make some music.
“If it’s fun, that’s all that matters.”
