Singer Spencer Day debuted the video for his new song “72 and Sunny” on Tuesday.
The track is from Day’s sixth studio album, Angel City — his first since 2014’s Daybreak.
Day, 39, sports retro duds in the video, which features vintage “home movie” clips.
Born into a Mormon family in Utah, Day went to live with his grandparents in Arizona following his parents’ divorce and then moved to California to pursue his music career. He appeared on the Star Search reboot and released his debut album in 2004.
Often compared to Canada’s Michael Bublé, Day has publicly cited Alberta’s k.d. lang and Montreal-raised Rufus Wainwright as inspirations after he came out as gay.
“That’s one of the really great things Rufus Wainwright and k.d. lang have done, is to blaze the trail and hopefully get it to the point where it’s like mentioning my eyes are brown,” he told The Advocate in 2010.
