BTS singer Suga, recovering from surgery, appeared in hologram form to perform “Life Goes On” on Sunday’s Mnet Asian Music Awards.
The other six members of the group were joined by the holographic Suga about two minutes into the song, which came after they performed “Dynamite” and “ON.”
Suga underwent surgery on Nov. 3 to fix damaged cartilage in his left shoulder.
“Suga must undergo a strict and unhindered period of recovery,” read a statement from Big Hit Entertainment.
The 27-year-old singer and dancer, whose real name is Min Yoon-gi, had been experiencing pain since an accident in 2012.
BTS won eight Mnet Asian Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (Map of the Soul: 7) and Song of the Year (“Dynamite”).
