Watch Sum 41 Give Their Final Interview & Answer Fan Questions

On January 31, 2025, Sum 41 threw themselves a going away party, or rather an intimate and interactive event for 200 of their biggest (and most local) fans at the Ajax Community Centre in their hometown of Ajax, ON. The night before, the Juno-winning pop-punk band played their final concert ever, closing out the Tour of the Setting of the Sum with a sold-out show at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Tickets for “Sum 41 Comes Home to Ajax” were available to Ajax residents only (yes, they checked everyone’s ID to make sure they had an Ajax address), and all 200 sold out within minutes, with proceeds going to Durham Youth Services.

To make it a fully interactive experience, fans were given the opportunity to submit questions for the band in advance, and hear members - Deryck Whibley, Jason “Cone” McCaslin, Dave “Brownsound” Baksh, Tom Thacker and Frank Zummo – share their memories and their feelings as they wind things down.

During the event, the band were also honoured by Ajax deputy mayor Sterling Lee, who presented them with a first ever key to the town and replica street signs of Sum 41 Way, which will temporarily replace Falby Court until March 31, the day Sum 41 is inducted into the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Hosted by CHUM 104.5’s Josie Dye, iHeartRadio Canada was there to film “Sum 41 Comes Home to Ajax” in its entirety for the non-Ajax-based fans who missed out.
