As it counts down to the release of its new album Order In Decline, Sum 41 on Tuesday released a video for the new single “A Death In The Family.”
The track is from the Canadian band’s seventh studio album, which drops July 19, and follows the April release of “Out For Blood.”
In the powerful song, Deryck Whibley sings: “You better pray for you’re commiseration / You’re almost out of time / Your fate is left to a different generation / You know they won’t be kind."
Sum 41's first album since 2016's 13 Voices, contains 10 songs described as the most honest and personal Whibley has ever written – inspired by the division, racism and hate he was witnessing. He also produced, engineered and mixed the album in his home studio.
The rest of the band consists of Dave Brownsound, Tom Thacker, Cone McCaslin and Frank Zummo.
Sum 41 will play RBC Echo Beach in hometown Toronto on Aug. 8 followed by an appearance at the Rock La Cauze Festival in Victoriaville, Quebec on Aug. 10.
