The Chicks – the country trio that nixed “Dixie” last month – are marking the release of Gaslighter, their first album in 14 years, by sharing the video for another single, “Sleep at Night.”
Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire sing about a cheating husband. “How do you sleep at night / How do you tell those lies / Lookin’ me in the eye / Livin’ a double life.”
The track was co-written by The Chicks with Teddy Geiger (who is behind most of Shawn Mendes’ hits) and Justin Tranter (who has penned hits for pop stars like Selena Gomez) and co-produced by Geiger.
Gaslighter was produced by Jack Antonoff, who has produced albums for Taylor Swift, Lorde and Canada’s Carly Rae Jepsen. Its 12 tracks alternate between political (the previously released "March March") and personal.
