Rapper Silentó, who gave the world “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” was arrested twice in the last week in California.
The 22-year-old, whose real name is Richard Hawk, was arrested Aug. 28 in Santa Ana and charged with inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
The next day, Silentó was arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly entering a home while armed with a hatchet. Police said he was looking for his girlfriend, who did not live in the house and had no connection to the family there.
Silentó was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on $105,000 U.S. bail.
"Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” sparked a dance trend when it was released in 2015. The video for the song has been viewed more than 1.7 billion times on YouTube.
