The estate of Whitney Houston is considering a touring hologram, a Broadway musical and an album of unreleased songs.
“Everything is about timing for me,” executor Pat Houston, the singer’s sister-in-law and former manager, told The New York Times. “It’s been quite emotional for the past seven years. But now it’s about being strategic.”
Houston died in 2012 at the age of 48.
The estate said launching a hologram tour is its current priority. Using original vocal tracks, a hologram of the superstar will perform with Houston’s original band and backup singers. An Evening with Whitney is expected to launch early next year, according to Billboard. Its creative director is Fatima Robinson, who has worked with Michael Jackson and Mary J. Blige.
Similar hologram tours have been done for Roy Orbison and Frank Zappa and there are plans for one featuring Canadian classical pianist Glenn Gould.
