Is Drake about to become the third Canadian superstar with a Las Vegas residency?
The Toronto rapper is set to announce he’ll do 12 shows over two years at XS Nightclub in Wynn Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
During a 30-minute concert at the club last week, Drake reportedly declared: “Vegas! When I came back, I thought it’d be back at T-Mobile Arena or some s**t. But I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lot of chances to see me.”
The Review-Journal cited an XS source as saying a deal has been struck for a Drake residency. The club, which has capacity for 3,000 fans, has had residency deals with The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Diplo, Kygo and Marshmello.
Canada’s Céline Dion is scheduled to wrap up her second residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in June after eight years. She previously had a residency at the venue from 2003 to 2007.
Shania Twain’s Still the One residency ran at Caesars Palace from 2012 to 2014.
