Country music icon Willie Nelson had to pull the plug on a concert Sunday night when he struggled to breath.

The 84-year-old singer left the stage early in his performance at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to reports, he was taken to hospital.

Overnight, he tweeted: “I am sorry to have to cut the SLC show short tonight. The altitude got to me I am feeling better now & headed for lower ground.”

Nelson is back on the road after cancelling several shows in late January and early February due to illness. In March, his publicist shot down a report by Radar Online that claimed Nelson was “deathly ill.”

One of the tracks on his latest album, God’s Problem Child, is titled “Still Not Dead.”
