A woman who accused 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford of sexual assault has retracted her allegations and apologized to the musician.
“Sophie H.” had alleged that Clifford groped her and “said one horrible thing” at a 2013 One Direction concert, at which 5SOS was the opening act.
“Today, I found out that I’ve been wrong for almost seven years,” she tweeted Monday. “Today I found out that my offender is dead. My offender IS NOT MICHAEL CLIFFORD. HE NEVER TOUCHED ME, HE NEVER SAID THOSE THINGS TO ME. He’s innocent.
“All I wanna say is I’m sorry Michael. I’m completely sorry for being wrong about you and the damage I may [have] caused.”
She added: “MICHAEL CLIFFORD NEVER, NEVER TOUCHED ME.”

Without providing further details, "Sophie H." suggested in follow-up tweets that a "lookalike" had assaulted her at the concert.
Her allegation on Monday – which she claimed was deleted by someone who hacked her account – came after another Twitter user alleged that Clifford “used to invite underaged girls to his hotel room/tour bus after shows.” That tweet was also deleted.
Clifford called the allegations “just BEYOND untrue” and “so completely false.”
As of Tuesday morning, the 24-year-old musician had not acknowledged the retraction and apology from “Sophie H.”
