The world’s first David Bowie statue was revealed in Aylesbury, England on Sunday.
The bronze statue features a selection of the late icon’s alter egos throughout the years, with Ziggy Stardust at the front. Speakers have also been installed above the life-size commemoration, which will play a Bowie song every hour.
Longtime fan and music promotor David Stopps developed the idea for the sculpture, and reportedly raised over $182,000 through a Kickstarter campaign for its creation.
"The reaction to the statue has been so positive," Stopps said in a statement. "When you get something like this people either love it or hate it. If people say 'I hate it' or 'I absolutely love it' then you know it's real art. That's the definition of art.”
The sculpture was designed by Andrew Sinclair, who reportedly used the mask from Bowie’s 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth to create the uncanny resemblance, according to BBC.
