Tory Lanez, charged earlier this month with shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July, claims he is being unfairly accused.
“For the last three months of my life, I’ve been in this place where, you know, I’ve been bashed, I’ve been cut through — just people every single day just coming at me, coming at me, coming at me,” the Canadian rapper said during an Instagram Live on Tuesday night.
“It’s crazy because the whole thing about it is, like, when this whole debacle, or whatever you call it, came about, the whole time was like, she knows what happened, I know what happened, and we know that what you’re saying and what the alleged things and the alleged accusations of my name is, are not true.
“It’s falsified information, it’s false information and it’s not accurate information.”
Lanez fell short of denying that he shot at Megan Thee Stallion.
The Ontario native whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was charged Oct. 8 with assault with a firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. The 28-year-old faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison.
An arraignment was postponed until Nov. 18 but, at a hearing on Oct. 13, Lanez was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Megan Thee Stallion.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office alleges that “on July 12, the defendant and [Stallion] got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. The victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her.”
Police in Los Angeles responding to a 911 call stopped the SUV that Stallion was in with Lanez and two others at around 4:30 a.m. Lanez was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Initial reports said Megan suffered cuts to her foot from broken glass but, a few days later, she took to social media to say she “suffered gun shot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me." She did not name the alleged shooter.
Then, last month, Megan publicly pointed the finger at Lanez.
“Tory shot me,” she said during an Instagram Live. “You shot me and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s**t.”
Megan recalled she was in the SUV with a female friend, Lanez and his bodyguard. An argument broke out and Megan, who was in the front seat and only five minutes from home, decided to get out. She said Lanez, “from out the backseat of the car starts shooting me.”
Last month, Lanez addressed the incident in a track he dropped titled “Money Over Fallouts.”
He raps: “Megan people trying to frame me for a shooting / But them boys ain’t clean enough / I see how they teaming up, watching and I’m calculating / Gotta keep it quiet, I can’t jeopardize the outcome waiting.”
Later, he raps: “I would never put you in no danger / and if I did you would have said it when you seen the cops.”
Lanez also casts doubt on Megan’s injury. “How the f**k you get shot in your foot / don’t hit no bones or tendons?”
But, in his Instagram Live on Tuesday night, Lanez insisted: “I don’t ever wanna come off like I’m here to bash this girl or I’m here to talk down about this girl or ever be at a place where, like, I’m disrespecting her, because to me, as a person, she’s still my friend. No matter what — even if she doesn’t look at me like that — I look at her like she’s still my friend.”
Megan Thee Stallion may have been watching Lanez. "This N***a genuinely crazy,” she tweeted.
