JOKER HAS BEST MONDAY EVER IN OCTOBER: Joker snagged $9.7 million, the best Monday ever in October, for a total haul of $105.9 million. The Todd Phillips-helmed film beat Venom’s Monday record from last year of $9.63 million, which was snagged on Columbus Day.

ROBERT DOWNEY JR. DECLINES TO CAMPAIGN FOR OSCAR: Robert Downey Jr. did not campaign for an Oscar for his role as Tony Stark in Iron Man, he told Howard Stern on Monday. This comes after a controversy stirred up between Marvel and Martin Scorsese. The Oscar-winning director essentially said Marvel didn't rise to the height of cinema, prompting outrage from fans and Marvel directors like Joss Whedon. 

SONY PLAYSTATION 5 WILL ARRIVE FOR 2020 HOLIDAY SEASON: Sony’s long-awaited PlayStation 5 gaming console will drop at the beginning of the 2020 holiday season. Among the new titles: Death StrandingThe Last of Us Part II, and Ghost of Tsushima.

THE WALKING DEAD PREMIERE DIPS: AMC’s The Walking Dead began its 10th season Sunday with its smallest same-day audience yet, drawing 4 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49, Deadline reports. The Sunday premiere was down 34% from the season nine debut in total viewers.
