Nearly a week after the destruction at Pioneer Flower Farms in St. Catharines, firefighters battle another blaze at a greenhouse in the region.

This time, in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Interim fire Chief Nick Ruller says seven trucks and 40 firefighters were at Niagara Flower Growers greenhouse on Line 6 Rd. after receiving the call early Friday morning.

An estimated $450,000 in damages occured in the hour it took firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and no injuries have been reported.

Niagara-on-the-Lake firefighters were on the scene of a much bigger greenhouse fire in St. Catharines last week assisting the Garden City detachment.
