Halton Police warn counterfeit oxycodone pills in circulation may contain fentanyl
Halton Regional Police are warning the public about counterfeit oxycodone pills circulating in the Greater Toronto Area.
They say the fakes look identical to real oxycodone tablets, but contain fentanyl instead.
Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that puts people at a much higher risk of overdose.
Police say fentanyl was present in 75 per cent of drug-related deaths in Halton Region last year.
