St. Catharines man turns $1 into $100,000 with lotto win
$1 has turned into $100,000 for a St. Catharines man.
Roger Chouinard matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the August 12, 2020 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
The 49-year-old says he didn’t think it was real at first, and jokes that he nearly died, because he couldn’t believe it.
He plans to buy some new furniture and is considering a new vehicle.
“It’s also important for me to put some aside to go away somewhere when I feel it is safe to travel again,” he smiled.
“This feels good. It makes you feel at ease – this is like security to know that I have the means to get through anything. And 2020 has taught us that anything can happen,” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Foodland on Talbot Street in Cayuga.
