Stuffed Mushrooms & Asparagus Spirals


This recipe is a favourite that my Girlfriend Delyse brings to our house over the holidays because I ask her to!  
And yes I eat them and LOVE them! - Lori Love

Stuffed Mushrooms

8 oz/250 g        Cream Cheese
6.5 oz/184 g     Can of Crab Meat (use the real if you can)
2 large              Garlic cloves minced
1/4 tsp               Salt
1/4 tsp               Cayenne Pepper
24                      Medium mushroom caps
Blend cheese, crab meat, garlic and spices until soft and thoroughly mixed.  Spoon mixture into caps.
Bake at 325 F for 1/2 hour or until slightly brown
Be careful they are hot!!  Enjoy!

Asparagus Spirals - you prep and the kids can roll

1 package      Puff Pastry sheets thawed
1 pkg              Garlic and Herb spreadable cheese (or make your own)
8 slices           Prosciutto 
30 Medium      Asparagus stems trimmed
Heat the oven to 400 F
Unfold the pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface
Spread your Herb Cheese on each sheet.  Top with 4 slices of prosciutto.  
Cut each sheet of the flaked pastry into 15 strips should make 30 "ribbon like" strips
Tightly wrap 1 pastry strip around each asparagus, prosciutto side in
Place them seam side down on 2 baking sheets
Bake for 15 mins or until golden brown
Serve these standing up in a decorative glass or piled on a Charcuterie Board!
