A gathering took place in Nelson recently aimed at bringing together diverse groups and opinions with a common goal of protecting ecosystems of B-C.

The Forest Summit and Convergence Lead Organizer Jennifer Houghton says one highlight was strategy sessions that will help build their report.

She says they're going to form a steering committee and come up with a vision that can be taken to the province.

Some of the groups involved include Kootenay Water is Life, the West Kootenay Ecosociety, and Ymir Community Watershed Society.
