Charges laid in house explosion and fire in Trail, and more vehicle break in's

A 43 year old Trail man is now facing charges after a house explosion and fire last May on Rossland Avenue in the Gulch.

According to Trail RCMP,  charges include producing a scheduled substance, Cannabis Oil,  and using Butane for production, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances act, as well as Arson by negligence.

The Trail resident has a March 7th court date in Rossland.

Meanwhile Trail RCMP responded to two separate reports of vehicle break in's in downtown Trail Tuesday at lunch time.

In both incidents, cement cinder blocks were used to break the windows and gain access.

Witnesses called police, but both men fled from the scene before police arrived.

A zebra striped gym bag containing a swim suit and toiletries was stolen from one vehicle and a pink lunch bag was stolen from the other .

The two suspects are described as Caucasian males, in their 20's, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and dark clothing.
