Crews remain on the scene of the wildfire behind the hospital in Trail
The fire above Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail is said to be under control, with crews on the scene today extinguishing hot spots and investigating the cause.
RDKB Emergency Program Manager Chris Marsh says it was a big team effort with a lot of agencies on site last night.
The blaze burned two hectares and came within several hundred metres of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
Fortunately there were no evacuation alerts, but Interior Health had activated their emergency plan for the hospital in case action had to be taken.
Today Fire personnel and equipment will be staged and operating on Hospital Bench Road between the hospital and high school.
in other fire news..the RDCK has downgraded the evacuation order for Renata and the area south east to Brooklyn to an Evacuation alert...it means that residents can return to their properties, but have to be prepared to leave again should conditions change.
The Bulldog Mountain Wildfire has been burning in the area since August 11th and is being managed as part of the Syringa Complex of fires.
Also the Evacuation Alert previously in effect for Brooklyn and south-east to Shields Point has been rescinded.
