Impaired drivers, and a pedestrian hit and run in Trail
Trail RCMP are reporting 6 impaired drivers on the roads over the past week.
Drivers were pulled over in the Rossland area, Waneta, and Montrose..with both drug and alcohol impairment reported.
RCMP say 4 of the impaired drivers were found during two separate Road Safety Checkstops on the weekend, where police checked over 300 vehicles.
Meanwhile Trail RCMP will be stepping up it's impaired driving enforcement and road safety campaign over the course of the 2019 Christmas season.
Police are also looking for more information after a pedestrian hit and run.
On Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian was walking across Cedar Avenue, when she was struck in the back by a reversing gold coloured Hundai Sante Fe, being driven by an elderly man.
He spoke to the victim briefly before driving away from the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP.
Meanwhile Police are out with a warning as we get closer to the Christmas season.
Last week two delivered Amazon packages were stolen from a doorstep of a residence on Groutage Avenue in Trail.
RCMP are recommending several things residents can do.
Install a security camera with motion detectors that can be connected to your smart phone, or ask delivery people to leave a notice instead of a package.
You could also have a designated and secure spot for your package, team up with neighbours, or have packages delivered to work.
