Investigations to follow skier and snowboarder deaths

Investigations are reportedly underway into the deaths of a skier and a snowboarder in BC.

A release from SouthEast District RCMP says just before 12:30PM on Friday, January 17th, the Nelson detachment reportedly caught word of a snowboarder discovered unresponsive in a tree well, in an out of bounds area of the Whitewater Ski Resort.

The deceased has since been identified as a Central Kootenay man in his 30's.

Another RCMP release says on that same Friday, Elk Valley RCMP recieved a report of a skier discovered unresponsive in the snow amungst trees, located on the Fernie Ski Hill.

The deceased has been identified as a Fernie Man in his 30's, orignially from Quebec.
