Jobless numbers low in the Kootenays and Nationally
It was a good looking unemployment report for the Kootenays in December.
Last month there were 24-hundred residents look for work for a rate of 3.1 percent, compared to a rate of 7.5 percent the previous December when there were more than double the amount of people looking.
There were also a lot more people working, up 6 thousand year to year, with most of the jobs in the Service producing industries according to Statistics Canada.
Nationally, the jobless rate held steady at a 43-year low of 5.6 per cent in December, even though the economy added 93-hundred jobs.
