Jobless rate up in the Kootenays and Nationally
The year over year jobless rate was up in the Kootenays in November.
Last month there were 35-hundred people looking for work for a rate of 4.8 percent, compared to the previous November when there were 3-hundred fewer residents job hunting and the rate was 4.1 percent.
The number of people with jobs around the region also decreased with a drop of over 5-thousand year over year.
Nationally Statistics Canada says the Canadian economy has posted its biggest monthly job loss since the financial crisis, with the unemployment rate climbing to just under six per cent.
