The Out In the Open Project is taking place in Castlegar.
It was created to provide opportunities for persons with mental health lived experiences to explore and develop creative talents, engage with the community, and to help reduce stigma.
Spokesperson Shauna Robertson says it was developed by the Social Enterprise group HOPE Creative Initiatives, Hope standing for Helping Ourselves Psychologically Every day, supported by Castlegar Mental Health and Substance Use.
The event includes a mural installation and gallery and pop up at the 4th Street Clubhouse in Castlegar.
At the Castlegar Library there's an art event as well.
There's also going to be Public Presentations and an Open House at the Library coming up October 10th which is World Mental Health Day.
