Trail Man Charged with Assault
An investigation into an alleged assault Tuesday in Castlegar has led several charges against a 30 year old Trail man.
RCMP believe they found fentanyl, methamphetamine, a lock picking set and a stolen BC License Plate on the suspect who bolted as police were arriving. Police say front-line officers tracked the suspect down nearby.
Clayton Clarke was released after appearing in Castlegar court Wednesday.
The 30-year-old returns to court in Rossland August 13 accused of assault, possession of drugs and stolen property, in addition to breaching probation.
Police say the victim didn't need medical attention at the scene, but is getting support from RCMP victim services and community agencies because of the attack.
