Trail RCMP Seize a Pistol and Arrest Two Men in Weapons Incidents

Trail RCMP continue to look into the arrests of two Central Okanagan men allegedly found with bear spray, a hunting knife and a small amount of drugs.

Police tracked them down Wednesday afternoon after they were reported to be banging on the door of a Mountain Street residence with one of then brandishing a gun.

They drove off when police arrived but were found with help of a police dog.  Officers didn't find a gun and believe drug trafficking was involved.

A 45-year-old man from West Kelowna has already appeared in Rossland Provincial Court as police said there were three outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old Trail man handed over his air pistol to police late Wednesday morning near the Skywalk Bridge, admitting it looked like the real thing.

The man told officers he bought it to chase away animals while camping.  He was nabbed quickly because of a detailed description from a witness who reported seeing a man near the bridge with a gun..
