Arrest made in connection with alleged forcible confinement and assault

In the early morning of September 2nd, 2020, Police in Penticton, BC received a report of a possible forcible confinement incident.

The information received alleged a female victim was being held against her will by her boyfriend. The pair was believed to be travelling from Alberta to Penticton.

On September 2nd, 2020, officers located the pair near a motel on Skaha Lake Road, in Penticton, BC.

As a result of further investigation, 41-year-old, Ian James MacDonald, was taken into custody. Charges of assault, uttering threats, failing to comply with a probation order and forcible confinement have been approved by the BC Prosecution Service and the matters are now before the court.
