The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) received a generous $4718 donation from the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen for new dining room chairs.

“We are thrilled to receive this incredible donation from the Community Foundation”, said Leah Schulting, Executive Director of CMHA.  “Our old dining room chairs were 30 years old, and in need of replacement.  Through this grant we were able to purchase washable, functional and comfortable chairs that will last for years to come.”

CMHA operates a mental health Clubhouse called Unity House with over 200 members.  14,288 nutritious meals were served last year to folks with a diagnosed mental illness.  Members volunteer to help with the preparation, cooking, serving and clean-up.  In addition to the tremendous member involvement, the community donates in-kind donations of food such as bread, pizza, vegetables and fruit.
