Keith MacIntyre Acclaimed as Libertarian Candidate for Penticton

Keith MacIntyre has been acclaimed as the BC Libertarian Candidate for the provincial election. He is in the process of gathering the last of the remaining required 75
signatures to file the nomination papers with Elections BC.

“I am humbled by the support from Penticton, Summerland, Naramata, and Peachland this week after I announced my intention to run for the BC Libertarian Party," says MacIntyre. "While many had not heard of the party, after learning how the party advocates for smaller and more accountable government, lower taxes, and more freedom, they immediately gave me their
support. Decisions being made in Victoria aren’t always right for the Okanagan.”

“I am dismayed at the state of partisan politics in Canada. The polarization between the two so-called ‘wings’ is getting worse and we have lost the ability to have meaningful debates with
each other without being accused of being right or left wing. The marketing manipulation by government through social media and traditional media is further exacerbating our inability to
talk about issues other than a few big ones. This election is a challenging one as we will not be able to discuss in person over Thanksgiving Dinner with our families, or in a pub after 10pm. I
have faith that the constituents in the Penticton riding are looking for something different."

MacIntyre has lived in Penticton for the last 10 years. He is the owner of Big Bear Software and President of the Okanagan School of the Arts.
