RCMP deal with stolen art, drugs and found cash
Penticton’s Street Enforcement Unit executes search warrant; seizes drugs and firearm
On May 1st, 2020, officers with Penticton’s Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) executed a search warrant at a motel suite in the 2000 block of Skaha Lake Road. The initial investigation led officers to the arrest of two adult men under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). One of the men was associated to a motel suite in the 2000 block of Skaha Lake Road.A warrant to search the suite was executed under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Officers seized a handgun and several grams of suspected drugs, believed to be Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. The circumstances of the investigation have been submitted to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for charge consideration.
Officers investigating theft of Lakeshore Drive sculpture
Sometime between April 23rd - 28th, 2020, a wooden ram’s head sculpture was stolen. The sculpture had been on public display in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive. Officers are reaching out to the public for any information as to its whereabouts. RCMP investigating found cash
In April 2020, a sum of Canadian cash was found by a citizen in the east side of Penticton.. Since that time, RCMP officers have been investigating with the hopes of locating the original owner. To date, no one has reported missing cash. Penticton RCMP is seeking the help of the general public. Officers will need to talk directly with anyone who feels they have information about the money, or its rightful owner.
