With the help of Penticton community members, Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club and Loblaw locations across British Columbia are celebrating a record-breaking 2019 Holiday Food Drive. Since the start of the initiative 10 years ago, stores across the province have exceeded expectations, collecting the largest amount of food poundage to date.

Local stores in Penticton generated over $11,400 and 575 lbs. of food contributing to a victorious year, supporting the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank. The Real Canadian Superstore in Penticton contributing the highest donations with over $9,400 in monetary donations. With the growing number of people who depend on food banks, members of the community helped those individuals and families put food on the table over the holidays and into the winter months.

A total of $210,604 and 116,535 lbs. of non-perishable food items were donated to local food banks in the province between November 29 and December 24, 2019.
