Boil Water Notice issued for Scotch Creek-Lee Creek Fire Hall
A Boil Water Notice has been issued for the water system for the Scotch Creek - Lee Creek Fire Hall and Community Hall due to unacceptable bacteria levels.
This will remain in place until further notice.
Please note: this Boil Water Notice is for the Scotch Creek - Lee Creek Fire Hall and Community Hall well water system only. It is not for the entire community.
Due to concerns of possible contamination, the system has been placed on a Boil Water Notice until water samples can be tested by Interior Health and results returned to the CSRD.
The CSRD and Interior Health advise that until further notice, all users of the water system are warned to:
- boil their water at a rapid boil for at least one minute; or
- add two (2) drops of fresh household bleach per litre of water; or
- use an approved alternative source of potable water (bottled water).
These directions apply to all water used for drinking, food preparation (including ice and produce) and dental hygiene. It is recommended to use a hand sanitizer after washing hands.
The CSRD will inform users once the Boil Water Notice has been removed. Further testing of the system will take place this week
