Ron MacLean, Tara Sloane and Hometown Hockey are coming to Salmon Arm in 2020.

Sunday, March 8th is the local date.

Mayor Alan Harrison has word from City Hall "Our bid was a really good one, so we were really excited when we heard they were going to come to Salmon Arm.. and then we heard Ron MacLean was coming to do a photoshoot - it was a great opportunity to show off our region and City."

He also has word on the possible location, saying "I expect that a lot of the venues will be in the downtown of Salmon Arm, Marine Park and that sort of area."

Minor Hockey's Roy Sakaki says it'll be busy in town that weekend "We're hosting a 12-team Bantam Rec tournament, so we'll have some teams from out of town and hopefully showcase this great event."

He's hoping to involve minor hockey players from other areas like Sicamous and the North Okanagan.

Other B.C cities with Hometown Hockey stops this season are North Van, Abbotsford, Campbell River, and Prince Rupert.
