Shuswap Sees Six Injured In Two Thursday Crashes

Salmon Arm RCMP have detailed two accidents from Thursday.

The first collision happened around 2:30 when a westbound SUV crossed the centre line and hit a minivan on Highway One uptown.

There was one person in the SUV and two adults and two children in the van.

All five were taken to hospital.

An RCMP release says that the driver of the westbound vehicle may have been impaired by alcohol.

Police also note that the two children in the van suffered only minor injuries.

The other accident happened around 6pm at the Balmoral Road intersection.

RCMP say that a vehicle was turning left into traffic when it was hit by a vehicle in the curb lane.

One person was airlifted from the scene and the offending driver was ticketed.
