Houston Mourns Passing of Engineering Director Paul Gordon
Flags over the municipal hall in Houston were lowered to half-mast Wednesday, to mourn the death of the district's Director of Engineering.
In a post on Facebook, the district announced that Paul Gordon had passed away.
The post says Gordon joined the district in April of last year, and helped to transform the Public Works Department.
It also said he would be remembered for his passion for community service, his commitment to advancing community works and his dedication to his staff.

It is with a heavy heart that the District of Houston announces the passing of Paul Gordon, Director of Engineering & Operations for the District of Houston. Paul joined the District in April 2018, and helped to transform the Public Works Department. Paul will be remembered for his passion for community service, his commitment to advancing community works, and his dedication to and appreciation of the members of the Public Works Department. His great smile and constant positive attitude made working with Paul an unforgettable experience; he will be dearly missed.
The District will be respectfully lowering its flags at the municipal hall to half-mast in mourning of Paul’s passing. Upon notification of the date of the memorial service, the flags will again be lowered to half-mast on the day of the service. A private service will be held at a future date. The lowering of flags is conducted pursuant to the District’s Half Masting of Flags for Mourning Policy.
