British singer Marianne Faithfull is in a London hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, her manager François Ravard confirmed on Saturday.

“She is stable and responding to treatment,” read a tweet from Republic Media. “We wish her well and a full and speedy recovery.”

Faithfull, 73, went to hospital earlier this week after developing a cold while self-isolating at home, her friend Penny Arcade (aka Susana Ventura) said in a Facebook post. Faithfull tested positive for COVID-19 and developed pneumonia.

The ’60s icon, who recorded “As Tears Go By” – penned by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards – while still a teenager, has had a well documented history of drug addition and health issues, including hepatitis C, breast cancer and anorexia.

Country folk singer John Prine and Canadian theatre performer Nick Cordero were also hospitalized with COVID-19, which in recent days has contributed to the death of Adam SchlesingerAlan Merrill and Joe Diffie. Singers Christopher Cross, Sara Bareilles and P!nk said they tested positive.
