Two suspects facing first degree murder charge in death of 14 year old boy outside Hamilton school
Two suspects will be in court today facing first degree murder charges after a 14 year old boy died following an alleged stabbing outside a high school.
Police say an 18 year old man and a 14 year old boy, both from Hamilton, will appear at the John Sopinka Courthouse to answer to the charge.
A third boy was arrested last night around 6 p.m. but he was released unconditionally after a police interview.
Officials say a 14 year old boy was allegedly assaulted outside Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School yesterday.
They also say the victim's mother was at the scene when it happened.
The weapon used in the incident has not been found, and residents in the area are urged to call police if they notice anything suspicious.
Police also caution residents not to touch the weapon if it is found.
Officers will be in the area for the majority of the day processing evidence and canvassing.
The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board has offered grief counsellors to anyone affected by the incident.
