The Department of Public Safety says a bar in Bathurst has been found to be in violation of the Liquor Control Act.

A release says adjudicator Liza A. Robichaud imposed a fine of $2,000 plus hearing costs of an additional $1,000 on TNT Show Bar on St. Patrick Street.

The fines were levied as a result of violations of the Liquor Control Act after the bar offered exotic entertainment in contravention of their entertainment licence.

Under the licence, TNT Show Bar was only allowed to employ musicians and singers.
