Edmundston developing a 4-season activity hub
The City of Edmundston says a new working group which includes representatives from the city, Centre plein air Mont Farlagne and Vélo Edmundston are working to accelerate the development of a new all-year activity hub.
A release says the stakeholders are coming together to reflect on opportunities to sustainably reinforce the four-season outdoor ecosystem, building on primary infrastructure that is already in place.
"We are very fortunate in Edmundston to have close to the downtown area a dynamic centre for outdoor sports and recreation and the most beautiful network of mountain bike and hiking trails in Atlantic Canada. The convergence of the partners is the natural next step to allow us to develop this sector further," says Edmundston's Chief Administrative Officer, Marc Michaud.
Work is in the initial stages, and the city says the partnership is working on a proposal to garner the support of the province and the federal government to allow the development of a global project.
