2020 Roses Radiothon launches in Bathurst

Hospital foundations in the Acadie-Bathurst Zone of the Viatlite Health Network gathered at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Tuesday to launch the 2020 Roses Radiothon campaign.

The campaign aims to raise funds to purchase and upgrade equpipment to improve patient care in the region.

Radiothon chair Eric Robichaud says this year's campaign will help purchase equipment that will allow prostate exams to be performed at the Chaleur Regional Hospital so men no longer have to travel outside the region to get checked.

Funds will also go towards supporting hospitals in the Acadian Peninsula region.

Meanwhile, several key people in the community will be taking place in the 'Movember' campaigne with the money raise going in support of the Radiothon.

Last year's event had a target of $150,000 but ended up raising a whopping $254,000.

The 2020 Roses Radiothon takes place on April 24th.
