Acadie-Bathurst Titan centre Alexandre David says he's lost his passion and is taking a break from hockey.

David announced Sunday he'll be hanging up his skates and focusing on his studies.

He says he'll revisit his decision at the Christmas break noting it wasn't taken lightly.

General manager Sylvain Couturier says losing 17-year-old David is a shame because he showed lots of promise.

David was picked up by the Titan in the second round at the 2018 Draft.
