Campbellton survived 'cyber attack' last summer
The City of Campbellton says it successfully survived a virus that locked part of its system down last year.
It happened last July when an employee opened an e-mail that appeared to be from a company the worker deals with on a regular basis.
Chief Administrative Officer Manon Clouthier tells the Tribune the malware partially compromised the city's computer system for about two days before an IT consultant was able to regain access to the files.
Clouthier says there was no ransom, or demand, and that there was no risk of personal information being released.
