Dept. Environment investigating chlorinated water spill in Little Tracadie River

news-update

New Brusnwick's Department of Environment is investigating after approximately 2,000 gallons of chlorinated water made its way into the Little Tracadie River.

Earlier this week pictures circulating on social media showed several dead fish near the spill site.

The department tells the  Acadie-Nouvelle that a water supply system was being installed at the Tracadie Marina, near the site of the spill, but didn't confirm whether the spill was related to the work.

The an investigation is underway, the department says it wasn't possible to obtain samples of the chlorinated water and that it's working to determine if any further action will be taken.
