Facing ugly forecast, New Brunswick village decides to bring Halloween indoors

Halloween

With heavy rain in the forecast, a small community in southeastern New Brunswick had decided to bring their Halloween celebrations indoors.

In the village of Petitcodiac, a local business owner has offered her dance studio as a dry refuge for trick-or-treaters.

Amy McEvoy says the studio is on Renfrew Street _ the busiest street in the village.

She says people are donating candy to make sure the event goes ahead tonight.

Seven municipalities in Quebec, many of them in the Montreal area, are postponing Halloween until Friday to avoid the rain.

It's the same story for at least 12 municipalities in New Hampshire.
