Fire displaces seven people in Saint John

Seven people have been displaced following a fire at a house in Saint John early Monday morning.

The Canadian Red Cross says the blaze on Irish Rose Lane, in the city's east end, was reported at around 2am.

The house, which contained three apartments was heavily damaged.

Red Cross volunteers have arranged for emergency lodging, meals, and purchases of clothing for five tenants while two other have arranged to stay with friends and relatives for the time being. 

There were no injuries reported.
